Among many wise and faith-filled women I have been blessed to know are Edna Turkington, Suzanne Straley and Virginia “Ginny” McCarty. This song is a “thank you” to them for modeling how great faith and love are lived out in the world.

There is a place assured by a promise,
where strong and weak walk side-by-side.
There is no fear, just a “blessed assurance”
that all are free by grace and in love abide.

There’s not on earth the likes of that city,
but there’s the hope of one that’s yet to come.
To show the way, the key to the kingdom:
one sacrifice, “once for all” – one only Son.

In faith be sure of all that you hope for
and certain of what you do not see.
Though things on earth and heaven be shaken,
with joy and thanks receive the promise yet to be.

Do not forget the needs of a stranger,
and treat him as a welcome guest.
In doing so, “some have entertained angels.”
And with the grace and peace of God you will be blessed.

Keep your life free from the love of money,
and be content with what you have,
for He has said, “I’ll never forsake you.”
